Learning Delay forecasts

Port delay forecasts, learned from the terminals’ own record

Port delay forecasts that come from history, not guesswork: we keep every version of every terminal plan, so we can see how far berthing really slips and how fast each terminal unloads, and forecast your ship from that.

Questions

The short answers. The rest is on the live port board and in the guides.

Where does the information come from?

From the files the terminals publish themselves: Transnet Port Terminals’ vessel updates, berthing lists, stack dates and import storage lists, and Durban Gateway Terminal’s own updates. We check them every 30 minutes and keep every version, so we can show what changed and when.

Is this official?

No. We are independent and not part of Transnet, the ports authority, ICTSI or Durban Gateway. We present what the terminals publish, faster and in one place. Always confirm critical dates with your terminal, line or forwarder.

How do you know my container’s free time?

Terminals publish free-storage end dates per ship, and per block or discharge day. We match your container to its ship and show the earliest date that could apply. If you know the discharge date, add it and the date becomes exact.

Which shipping-line charges do you use?

We use the line’s published South African demurrage tariff where we have it (Maersk’s 15 April 2026 tariff is built in), or the free days and daily rate you enter for your own contract.

Which terminals are covered?

Durban Gateway Terminal, Durban Container Terminal Pier 1, Cape Town Container Terminal, Cape Town Multipurpose Terminal, Ngqura and Port Elizabeth Container Terminal.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in the browser, and alerts arrive by email (SMS on the Business plan).
